This workbook focuses on spelling:
- Sight words at the grade 3 level, such as important, mountains and sometimes.
- Two, three and four letter blend words.
- Two and three letter ending words.
- Irregular plural words and irregular verbs.
- Different sounds: ch and gh words, and open and closed syllable words.
- Prefixes and suffixes.
- -c, -k, -ck words, silent letter words and soft c and g words.
Structure of the workbook
Each section starts with exercises to practice tracing, writing and rewriting a set of words, such as whisper, wheeze and wheat.
Following those worksheets, we combine the sets of words into four pages of spelling exercises. Here are two example pages:
