Google Opens up World of Wonders to Kids – Old and Young

With the news this morning that Google is now mapping ocean floors and has added the Great Barrier Reef to its Google Maps application, I thought I’d bring their whole “World Wonders Project” to your attention.  A proud geek and a closet world traveler (you won’t believe the places I have been to, sitting on my couch), this site has already given me hours of fun.  I’m sure I’m not alone in this category, so to all you geeks and closet travelers out there – I bring you: Google’s “World Wonders Project”.

Pull up your chairs, bring the kids along and let’s go explore a couple of my favorite places:

And check this out, Google has also created an education section, with teachers sections for elementary and high school students.  I took a quick look through their guide for elementary students and it’s perfect for us parents too.  Whether you are homeschooling or enriching your child’s minds after school, you should take a look at their suggested curriculum.
